Different Kinds of Plants

Flora can fit into many different categories depending upon how you want to do the classification. For example, plants can be sorted by their uses, flowering abilities, edibility and so forth. It would take quite some time to list all kinds of plants in the world.

Plants that are edible are cultivated to provide food for people. Some of the cultivated plants are raised to feed the animals that people raise or have as pets. Farms and home gardens will grow edible plants of all sorts. Plants also include trees that produce edibles, such as fruits and nuts. This demonstrates that there would be subcategories within any main category.

Another kind of plant to consider would be those that are useful to mankind. Medicines are made from plants, but are only considered in this category if they are used straight from the plants. Some plants are also used for their vines or fibrous strands in creating baskets. Keep in mind that trees are plants and provide wood that has countless uses.

People love flowering plants and trees. These can provide indoor and outdoor joy and improve one’s mood. Some of the flowers can be productive in marketing at florist shops or for the homeowner that enjoys the shrubs, trees and plants that have seasonal blooming.

There are still more of kinds of plants such as those that require very little water. These include cacti and succulent plants. On the opposite side of the coin, there are a number of lush moisture loving plants that thrive in the rainforests of the world. As you can see, the list would go on for quite some time as one works to list all the different kinds of plants.
