Different Kinds of Plants

There are major groups of plants that can be chosen from beginning with angiosperms. Angiosperms are the most advanced. They have a vascular system which transports nutrients through the tubing and they have the ability to flower. Examples of angiosperms include plants such as wheat, barley, sunflowers and roses. Annuals, perennials and biennials are plants that have the ability to flower once a year or twice a year, depending on the climate in which they are planted.

Another classification of plant is the epiphytic plants. These plants depend on another trunk or support for them to grow up. They are sometimes called air plants and they include orchids. Pitcher plants are the types of plants that are carnivorous, which means that they eat insects as they pass through. Lastly, there are desert plants. These plants are able to store water and hold on to it until it is needed, at which time it is released into the plant to keep it alive.

There are so many plants out there today that the options are endless. Depending on climate, soil and water supply, there are plants that are appropriate for whatever area you are planning to plant in.
